" Behold the Lamb of GOD which taketh away the Sin of the World." John 1: 29
Renee is selling this Antique Original Saxony Style Flax Wheel, circa 1850.
The wheel is made of quarter sawn oak which shows the rays or flecs especially on the base and wheel itself.

The Distaff is the old bird cage style, and may not be original to the wheel, but is from the time peiod. The orifice is (1/8) which is best suited for spining thin thread such as flax. The flax thread can be waxed and used to sew up period correct bags, moccasins, gloves, and other sundry goods.

The wheel works well and would make great showpiece, or working piece.
It is likely from the mid 1800's but would be period correct for Revolution through about 1920.
